Morgan Nixon PA-C joined the Deerfield Dermatology family in July of 2019 and is a beloved member of our team—by both patients and providers. Morgan strives to deliver exceptional patient care with every interaction, and we couldn’t be more proud to call her one of our own!
As a board-certified physician assistant with an abundance of dermatology experience, Morgan is a fantastic resource on all things skin, hair and nail health. She performs comprehensive dermatological examinations and can diagnose, treat and prescribe appropriate therapies for all dermatologic conditions. You can read more about Morgan’s educational background and certification here.
We caught up with Morgan recently and asked her a few questions we thought her patients would like to know. Here’s what she had to say…
Question: What do you enjoy most about dermatology?
Morgan: Improving patients’ lives. Whether it’s treating a rash, acne or simply improving the appearance of the skin, it’s very rewarding to know I’m helping make a difference in my patients’ lives.
Question: Why did you choose to become a physician assistant?
Morgan: I would not be where I am today without the influence and guidance of my mother. As a child, my mother would come home from work as a respiratory therapist and tell me stories of interesting cases and people she had helped that day.
As I got older, she would take me to work with her to the nursing home to visit the residents and help them with activities. When I turned 16, my mother helped me get my first job as an assistant in the imaging department at the Cancer Treatment Center of America—where she worked.
This is where I first viewed the supportive role and positive impact these practitioners played in patients’ lives. And I wanted to do the same.
Question: What is your favorite cosmetic procedure?
Morgan: Botox! I love that patients receive nearly immediate results and that I can customize a patient’s injections to help them achieve the best overall look. I highly recommend it as a preventative measure for cosmetic anti-aging.
Question: When you aren’t serving patients, how do you spend your spare time?
Morgan: I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two children and rescue shepherd mix, Sam. We like to travel, go camping and spend quite a bit of time cooking and trying out new foods. When I get some downtime, I enjoy reading and crocheting, too.
