Samantha “Sami” Waitzman

Samantha “Sami” is a board-certified Physician Assistant at Deerfield Dermatology. Sami has over 12 years of both clinical and research dermatology experience which included serving as a Clinical Research Coordinator for a large Dermatology Practice.

Sami specializes in skin cancer, general dermatology and cosmetic procedures. Sami has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Indiana and completed her Pre-PA Studies Program at the School of Continuing Studies, Northwestern University, and earned a master's in medical science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rush University.

Sami is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and has a State of Illinois Physician Assistant License and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Dermatology.  

Sami is highly knowledgeable in performing dermatological examinations as well as diagnosing, treating, and prescribing appropriate treatments for a wide range of dermatologic conditions. Sami is adept at performing extractions, minor surgical procedures, cryotherapy, and biopsies.

Sami’s goal is to provide an exceptional patient experience and provide the highest standards of dermatological care. She prides herself on being very thorough and detailed on her approach and believes her clinical research experience was invaluable in promoting this style.

Sami practices with the motto “I treat patients just like I would treat my mom. Furthermore, I am not satisfied until the patient’s issue has been very comprehensively reviewed and treated. I want patients to have the utmost confidence in my abilities and ethics.”
